Hunt Country Bank Barn
The Plains, VA
This bank barn - dating back more than a century - was refurbished to serve as both an equestrian and recreational barn for the owners without sacrificing several quintessential elements from the original barn.
B&D Builders joined the project with the goal of incorporating as many period details as possible. The B&D team was uniquely suited to this kind of attention to detail and craftmanship, and pulled through legacy elements across the entire project, from strap hinges to a decorative cross fleury that was incorporated into the final design.
It’s those abundant details that make this barn special and underscore its multiple uses.
Gothic arch windows, high ceilings, and unique pendant lights lend a period-correct feel to the upstairs, which serves as a gathering place and an art studio.
