Starlight Farms - Greenwich
This stunning equestrian facility was inspired by Western European barns. Adorned with a rustic white oak timber frame, this estate looks like it’s been a part of the surrounding natural beauty for a century or more.
B&D Builders worked with a large team to bring this estate to life, including insights from grooms as well as tack and bit storage ideas from other riders. B&D Builders lent their expertise and craftsmanship to each aspect of the collaboration, resulting in an elegant barn that is the definition of refined simplicity.
The grace of the exterior carries through to inside the space, where skylights and white oak provide a modern, airy atmosphere featuring plenty of space and comfort for both horse and rider.
The European influence extends to the wash and grooming stalls and the overall feel of the space. Modern flourishes optimize the barn for the realities of its surroundings, including heated flooring for cold Connecticut winters.
The owner was eager to utilize as much local material as possible. Most notably, this includes the iconic quartz pillar on the gate sourced from a nearby quarry.
