Chickering Traverse City

Williamsburg, MI

This expansive equestrian estate sits among abundant pastures and misty meadows. Every aspect of this barn is a testament to the owner’s love of his horses. No stone was left unturned during the design process. Including the owner’s suite which features the names of every horse he owns, custom details for how he spends his time, and the convenience of spending quiet mornings with his horses before the bustle of the day.

The barn evokes a cathedral atmosphere with expansive ceilings and custom chandeliers in the main cupola. These chandeliers are always lit, promising exquisite views from the surrounding grounds as the sun goes down.

In spite of its expanse even the smallest details were thought of and curated. Nuanced details make the tack room the epicenter of daily activity. White oak and forged iron bring this space to life with custom cabinetry, saddle racks, and bridle hooks. Functional feed rooms and thoughtfully designed wash and grooming stalls seamlessly blend with elegant and unique finishes.

“No project is without its bumps, but B&D was great to work with throughout the process and always found solutions. We’re thrilled with how everything turned out.” – John Ingram
