Stone Wine Cellar
This wine cellar uses natural stone and wood to capture the essential elements of European cellars, giving the owner a remarkable place to not only store vintages, but gather friends and family to enjoy each other’s company and a glass or two.
B&D Builders took on this project and immediately recognized the opportunity to use craftsmanship and attention to detail to make an exceptional wine cellar. The team dug below the foundation of the house to create the cellar space, paying close attention to construction specifics and other elements like humidity that could impact the wines stored there.
The entire space was designed to feel like it was pulled from the old world in the depths of a castle with a vaulted ceiling, custom oak stairs, cabinetry, and racks, as well as wrought iron doors, hinges, lighting, and hardware.
The cellar blends seamlessly into the larger footprint of the home. With a secret outside entrance, it’s completely hidden from the road. It creates a speakeasy atmosphere where the closest friends and family are transported to a different world with centuries of history and shared stories.
